Field Collected: Tom Mortimer Catalog No.: u050 Notes: These extreme prismatic zircon crystals are quite unusual. They are moderately common at this locality. This zircon group is not fluorescent. The Rocks and Minerals article on the North Sugarloaf locality by Whittemore and Janules (Vol. 65, No. 4) noted (pg. 343) EDS analysis "revealed the presence of minor uranium and hafnium" in these crystals. |
